Job Description
The vendor management expert is responsible for managing the company's relationships with partners and vendors. This includes identifying, onboarding, and developing new vendors, maintaining and enhancing existing relationships, and overseeing the accreditation process. The role also involves strategic alignment of partnerships, optimization of vendor performance, and leadership in collaborative efforts to achieve the company's strategic objectives, especially in enhancing IT infrastructure, data centre, and telecommunications services.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vendor Management: Lead the development and maintenance of strategic relationships with key vendors, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
Vendor Identification and Onboarding:
Research, identify, and evaluate potential partners and vendors based on the company's strategic goals and needs.
Lead the onboarding process for new partners and vendors, including agreement execution, and setup in internal systems.
Accreditation:
Develop and maintain the company's vendor accreditation program.
Define and communicate accreditation requirements and standards to vendors.
Conduct accreditation assessments and audits to ensure compliance.
Manage the accreditation renewal process.
Performance and Strategy Alignment: Develop and implement performance metrics and KPIs for evaluating vendor effectiveness, aligning vendor contributions with strategic objectives.
Work with partners and vendors to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize partner and vendor performance.
Relationship and Escalation Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and vendors through regular communication, performance reviews, and issue resolution.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between partners/vendors and internal teams.
Monitor and evaluate partner/vendor performance against established metrics and SLAs.
Identify and address performance issues or risks proactively.
Issue management: validates concerns/complaints raised by proponents vs vendors. Facilitates and monitors resolution issues
Risk Management: Lead the identification and mitigation of risks associated with vendor relationships and operational activities, safeguarding company interests.
Cross-functional Team Leadership: Collaborate with various departments to ensure that vendor services and operational activities meet strategic and operational needs.
Market and Industry Leadership: Maintain a proactive stance on market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for new vendor partnerships or enhancements to existing relationships.
Reporting: Regularly report on vendor performance metrics, operational effectiveness, and strategic alignment to the management and relevant stakeholders.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Certification in partner/vendor management, procurement, or supply chain management.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing vendor relationships, vendor management, accreditation processes and standards, vendor issue resolution, procurement, or a related role preferably in the data centre, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure sectors.
Proven track record of successful partnership and vendor management
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a focus on operational excellence and risk management.
