An Accounts Receivable (AR) manages a company's incoming payments, ensuring timely collection of funds owed by customers. Key Responsibilities:
- Invoicing: Creating and sending invoices to customers for goods or services rendered.
- Payment Processing: Receiving and accurately recording customer payments, including cash, checks, and electronic transfers.
- Account Management: Maintaining customer accounts, including updating contact information and payment history.
- Collections: Monitoring outstanding invoices, contacting customers regarding overdue payments, and negotiating payment plans.
- Reconciliation: Ensuring that customer accounts and payments reconcile with the company's financial records.
- Reporting: Generating reports on accounts receivable balances, aging of receivables, and payment trends.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigating and resolving any discrepancies or disputes related to customer accounts.
- Credit Management: Applying fair credit practices and assessing customer creditworthiness.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations and company policies.
