Job Description
The Assistant Project Manager will be handling on-site daily affairs in delivering all aspects Project Management scope of reporting, time, cost, risk, and scope management oversight. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager/Line Manager and supporting project and cost management teams to manage the execution of the project scope in accordance with the client’s delivery programme and approved budget.
- To assist the appointed Project Manager in managing the project inclusive of cost planning, consultant and contractor procurement, design management, construction management until project completion and handover.
- On-site coordination of activities of the appointed project consultants in alignment with the project schedule and budget
- Engage with project stakeholders (internal to the client) and external (e.g., industrial estates, authorities, and providers) in connection with the project
- Manage and oversight all project procurement and coordination activities including, but not limited to the procurement of early works and main contractors, critical equipment and other specialist suppliers
- Aiding appointed Project Manager in administering appointed contracts and undertake all necessary interfacing and reporting with the contractors during the post-contract phase.
- Ensure compliance to the T&T Commission Execution Plan (“CEP”) online system, risk management and business management system frameworks
- To maintain effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project
- To manage the implementation of the master programme, manpower, materials & plant schedules
- Responsible for the project planning, including producing the detailed project plan
- To lead and facilitate the overall cross-functional project team
- To prepare master programme, formal project progress and other reports
- To take a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
- Control and properly compile all relevant documents for the project including uploading to T&T sharepoint.
- Any other work-related tasks or duties deemed required and assigned by the management / line manager.
Qualifications
- Degree in project/construction management and/or engineer (or other related disciplines) is required
- Experience in construction of retail/luxury retail stores.
- Experienced in using planning tools: Microsoft Project
- Over 3 years relevant industry experience (or related fields) specifically in managing a programme of capital works on a local and/or regional scale.
- Business level communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work pro-actively as part of a committed team across different countries
- Experience providing programme / project consultancy services to large multinational companies
- People management skills in the context of managing various stakeholders
- Experience with reporting to the client directly and being accountable for the overall success of the project deliverables.
