Accountant – Australian Account (Office-based)

About the Role:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Australian clients and provide a wide range of accounting services, from day-to-day bookkeeping to compliance reporting and financial statement preparation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in managing client accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily bookkeeping functions and maintain accurate general ledger records.
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, PAYG, GST, and FBT returns in compliance with Australian tax laws.
- Complete tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Reconcile accounts and process month-end and year-end adjustments.
- Maintain and update asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes as required.
- Assist with tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address queries and provide accurate financial insights.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and ATO requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of accounting experience, preferably with Australian accounts.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as XERO, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in an office-based environment.
Preferred:
- Previous experience working with Australian outsourcing or accounting firms.
