Job Description:
The Business Unit Manager (BUM) holds a critical leadership role responsible for driving sustainable business growth and development for the assigned principal client/s of the company. This entails overseeing the entire product cycle, from sales to supply chain, marketing, and trade marketing, and ensuring seamless integration into the company's systems and processes. The BUM serves as the primary liaison between the company and its principal client/s, leading internal and external operations to deliver agreed-upon Key Result Areas (KRAs) effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Function:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business goals, targets, and revenue.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and developing effective solutions.
- Conduct on-the-field engagement with sales teams and participate in trade-related activities.
Trade Marketing:
- Prepare and execute Annual Trade Marketing & Distribution plans for assigned categories and channels within approved budgets.
- Translate Brand Plans into Brand Sales Strategies, focusing on key drivers such as distribution, visibility, pricing, promotions, and merchandising.
Supply Planning:
- Collaborate with the Demand Planning Team to develop sales outlook and ensure proper supply planning.
- Participate in forecasting meetings to agree on monthly volume targets and SKU forecasts.
Financial Management / Trade Fund Management:
- Safeguard company profitability by managing accounts receivable and other financial aspects related to handled brands.
- Allocate category trade funds to support business goals and objectives.
Principal Engagement:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual sales reports and analyses to principals and sales teams.
- Conduct regular business reviews with principals and sales teams to discuss performance and strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in retail sales, trade marketing, account management, business development, or marketing, preferably within the FMCG industry.
