CATERING MANAGER
Job Summary
A catering manager oversees the planning, organization, and execution of catering services for various events, such as weddings, corporate functions, parties, and other gatherings. Their primary responsibilities include:
1. Client Relations: Meeting with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budget. Providing menu suggestions, arranging tastings, and finalizing service details.
2. Menu Planning: Working with chefs and kitchen staff to create diverse and appealing menus. Ensuring that dietary restrictions and preferences are accommodated.
3. Staff Management: Hiring, training, and supervising catering staff, including servers, chefs, and bartenders. Scheduling shifts and assigning tasks to ensure smooth operations.
4. Logistics Coordination: Organizing the transportation of food, equipment, and staff to event locations. Ensuring that all necessary supplies and equipment are available and in good condition.
5. Budget Management: Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets to ensure profitability. Negotiating with suppliers and vendors for the best prices on ingredients and equipment.
6. Quality Control: Ensuring that all food and services meet quality standards. Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to ensure it meets client expectations.
7. Compliance and Safety: Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintaining proper sanitation and food safety standards at all times.
8. Problem-Solving: Addressing any issues that arise during events, such as staffing shortages, last-minute changes, or client complaints, to ensure client satisfaction.
9. Marketing and Sales: Promoting catering services to attract new clients. Developing marketing strategies and networking within the community to build a client base.
10. To fulfill multi- functions as designated and any other assignments or responsibilities deemed reasonable and necessary by the Restaurant Manager.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree
- Relevant experience in Sales and Restaurant Operations, preferred
- Must possess strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
