Cutting Operator sets up and operates machinery to precisely cut various materials, such as paper, metal, or fabric, according to specifications. Key duties include feeding materials into machines, monitoring operation for issues, performing routine maintenance, and inspecting/sorting finished products. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, the ability to read instructions, and a commitment to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Start, operate, and stop cutting and slicing machines, which may involve manual or automated processes.
- Material Handling: Feed stock into machines, guide materials, and remove finished products, often by hand or using equipment like carts.
- Setup and Adjustment: Program and make adjustments to cutting equipment, set guides and fixtures, and install blades or dies as needed.
- Quality Control: Examine completed work for defects, measure dimensions, and sort products for further processing or shipment.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning, and replacing worn components, to keep machinery in good working order.
- Record Keeping: Track production data, including the quantity, type, and dimensions of materials cut.
