Executive Director – Loving Yourself Forward (LYF)
Superhero position, cape optional.
Cebu City, Philippines | Full-Time | Ground-Floor Leadership Role
About LYF
Loving Yourself Forward (LYF) is a nonprofit startup with a heart-first mission: to walk alongside teens in crisis—especially girls aged 12 to 20—and help them build lives of stability, dignity, and hope. We don’t flinch when things get messy. We believe that teens who make hard choices or act out—often from a place of pain or survival—deserve understanding, not judgment. Compassion is where real change begins. LYF exists to connect these young people to resources, allies, and opportunities—and to remind them they’re not alone.

Why This Role Matters
This isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. As our Executive Director, you’ll be stepping into a wide-open role with deep purpose and room to shape something meaningful. We’re early-stage, grassroots, and nimble—and we need a leader who can build systems without losing sight of the soul. You’ll work closely with the founder for now, but the vision is clear: to hand you the reins. You will help shape not just the org, but the lives of the youth we serve.
What You’ll Be Doing
Operations & Organizational Leadership
- Manage and refine daily operations—from logistics and documentation to budgeting and coordination.
- Translate big vision into real-world action, even when resources are tight.
- Help recruit and guide initial team members or volunteers.
- Support formation of a Board of Directors and implement basic governance.
- Ensure ethical, legal, and safeguarding practices are in place from day one.
Program Direction
- Work with the founder and future team to shape programs grounded in trauma-informed care.
- Listen to the community and ensure that what we offer meets the evolving needs of the teens we serve.
- Help create an environment where both staff and youth feel safe, respected, and able to grow.
Fundraising & Resource Development
- Lead fundraising efforts: identify grants, cultivate donor relationships, and explore creative funding strategies.
- Ensure responsible, transparent, and mission-aligned use of resources.
Public Engagement & Partnerships
- Act as the public face of LYF: build strong, trust-based relationships with LGUs, DSWD, NGOs, funders, media, and other allies.
- Represent LYF in coalitions, public forums, and with potential partners.
Who You Are
- Deeply kind. Compassion isn’t a buzzword to you—it’s your default.
- Clear-headed and grounded, especially when others are in crisis.
- Operationally strong: you bring order to chaos and can lead without micromanaging.
- Comfortable in both boardrooms and barangays.
- Fluent in English and Cebuano.
- Located in or willing to relocate to Cebu City.
- You have significant experience in nonprofits, youth programs, social services, or similar spaces. Titles matter less than impact and insight.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care is strongly preferred.
- Existing relationships with DSWD, LGUs, or other relevant partners in Cebu are a major asset.
What We Can Offer
- A Competitive compensation package
- A chance to lead something that actually matters.
- Flexibility, creativity, and trust.
- The opportunity to make a permanent difference in the lives of young people.
