Role description:
The Financial Risk & Controls Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the activities of the FRC team, ensuring meticulous evaluation of financial risks and controls within the organization by conducting in-depth examinations of financial systems and processes. This role involves providing hands-on support to facilitate effective and efficient tasks execution and guide the team towards achieving their goals and objectives.
Role accountabilities:
- Identify and evaluate risks and controls impacting the organization’s financial business processes and financial statements.
- Actively participate in the regular reviews and testing of financial controls by facilitating walkthroughs, documenting the activities, and evaluating outcomes to validate control effectiveness.
- Review IT controls and applications to ensure system integrity and compliance.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key risk areas, identified deficiencies, and recommendations for processes and systems improvements.
- Facilitate and lead meetings with the Global Directors and in-country representatives regarding FRC activities.
- Perform Segregation of Duties (SOD) and User Access reviews across multiple countries to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the FRC team and other business units, providing support in the designing, implementing, and enhancing internal control, risk mitigation strategies, and business processes.
- Develop tailored solutions with business unit leaders that align with their strategic goals and operational needs.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks related to Risk and Compliance initiatives to address emerging needs and priorities.
- Assist the Global Finance Risk & Compliance Manager in planning, scoping, executing tasks, and potentially leading specific aspects of testing.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management team and global/local finance teams to ensure alignment and coordination efforts.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Accountancy or Finance)
- In-depth experience of Sarbanes Oxley, internal controls, and risk consulting, risk management, assurance audit, or related fields.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud is preferred.
- Comfortable working independently as well as being a team contributor.
- Excellent in both verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at different management levels and experience working in a multinational and dynamic environment are required.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines despite multiple and conflicting priorities.
