Alabang (96050), Philippines, Muntinlupa City, National Capital Region (Manila) Finance Specialist (Controllership)Job Summary:
Responsible for preparation and booking of journal entries, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, performs monthly financial reports such as variance analysis for Balance Sheet and Income Statement. Reviews the completeness and validity of purchase requisitions. Serves as the risk specialist for all finance processes.
General Responsibilities:
- Performs GL month-end close tasks such as cash and bank reconciliation, amortization of prepayments, fixed assets accounting, accruals, and other necessary journal entries.
- Prepares monthly invoice, records and reconciles all intercompany passed on charges.
- Performs the monthly GL account reconciliations and review, adherence to accounting and regulatory guidelines.
- Prepares reports, analyzes and interprets financial, operating expenses and revenue information for management.
- Acts as Primary Finance Buyer, oversees the other finance buyers in ensuring that all purchase requisitions raised are accurate, complete, and valid.
- Performs control testing for operating effectiveness (TOE) for all Finance prime and internal (procedural) controls to ensure effective controls are in place. This includes coming up with a test procedure, up to presentation of results (i.e observations, findings, and recommendations) of the controls testing to the teams involved, and the management team, to ensure alignment of the next steps.
- Updates related Standard and Procedure documentation as needed.
- May be assigned/rotated across other related sub-functions including but not limited to sub-functions within Finance
- Other job-related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant
- At least 3 years relevant work experience
- Work experience in top auditing firms such as the Big 4 is an advantage
- Knowledge in US/Philippines GAAP
- Knowledge in accounting software application (i.e Peoplesoft) is an advantage
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Proficient in G-Suite and Microsoft Applications (MS Excel, Word, PPT)
- Amenable to work from home and work onsite (as needed)
- Amenable to work in a mid shift schedule
