DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Financial Analyst
- Assists in performing comprehensive review and analysis of financial statements
- Submits recommendations and proposals for fiscal related improvements to business practices.
- Participates in studies to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of a unit.
- Maintains and updates files and records relative to the functions of the department.
- Ensures compliance to LGC policies and procedures.
- Provides support to management for various projects and system developments.
- Provides regular updates on new developments regarding finance and system analysis.
- Compiles necessary learning materials for the continuous development and enhancement of the department.
B. Tax Specialist
- Assists in checking accuracy and in conducting initial review of tax returns prior to submission and final review/approval of the CFO/ODC.
- Assists in monitoring each LGC unit to ensure compliance to applicable tax laws and BIR filing deadlines.
- Sends reminders to each LGC unit of the filing/submission deadlines of tax returns/schedules at least 5 days from the deadline.
- Communicates status of the filing/submission to the Department Head at least 3 days from the deadline.
- Monitors compliance of each LGC unit on the filing of tax returns and submission of required schedules with the BIR.
- Regularly checks the BIR website or any other source of information for new updates and developments regarding tax matters and relays such to the Corporate Tax Supervisor/Department Head for review and application.
- Provides assistance to the Department Head, CFO/ODC and each LGC unit’s finance department in interpreting and understanding tax laws and regulations.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in BS Accountancy or its equivalent.
- With relevant experience is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and ability to multi-task.
