- Washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting fruits and vegetables
- Measuring ingredients and seasonings, and preparing them for use
- Storing food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- Assisting cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area, including cleaning utensils, equipment, and dishes
- Operating a variety of kitchen appliances such as blenders, ovens, grills, and slicers
- Keeping records of the quantities of food used
- Preparing simple dishes such as salads, entrees, and sandwiches
- Mixing ingredients for recipes
- Handling and storing ingredients and food items properly
