The DCX Client Services Home-Based Payroll & Compliance Specialist is responsible for managing accurate and timely payroll across Canada, the United States, and China. This includes handling payroll complexities such as shift premiums, bonuses, and leave adjustments while ensuring compliance with local and international labor regulations. The role partners with external vendors (e.g., PEO TotalSource, FESCO), leads ADP WorkforceNow system administration, audits, reporting, and data integrity. A strong focus on compliance, attention to detail, and experience with cross-border payroll are key to success in this role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Payroll Across Borders & Shifts
- Own and process timely, accurate payroll for:
- Canada – hourly and salaried employees across three shifts
- United States – 10+ employees in 7 states (through PEO TotalSource)
- China – oversight in partnership with an external vendor (FESCO)
- Handle payroll complexities: overtime, shift premiums, bonuses, taxable benefits
- Respond to timekeeping discrepancies and questions with clarity and empathy
- Track and process payroll adjustments: retroactive pay, sick/maternity leave, vacation, and manual corrections
- Coordinate with PEO partner (TotalSource) to ensure U.S. payroll accuracy and compliance across jurisdictions
- Support benefit deduction setup and ensure alignment with payroll cycles and plan rules.
- Manage full payroll lifecycle across all sites and systems, including cycle timing, retroactive adjustments, leave tracking, and exception handling. Partner with Finance on payroll-related audits and bonus alignment as needed.
Compliance, Audits & Data Integrity
- Ensure full compliance with: CNESST, RL-1, T4, PEO (US), and provincial/state employment standards.
- Maintain organized records and process documentation (SOPs, audit-ready)
- Lead preparation for audits and reporting (internal/external), working closely with Finance
- Monitor legal updates, recommend policy/process updates to maintain compliance
System Management & Data Accuracy
- Lead ADP WorkforceNow system configuration, audits, and optimization
- Coordinate data integrity across HRIS and payroll records
- Collaborate on building dashboards and reports (Excel, ADP, Power BI)
- Provide reports for Finance, HR, and external stakeholders (e.g., insurers, auditors)
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience in Canada, U.S., multi-state, or PEO payroll experience is a strong asset.
- Working schedule: Ability to work overnight/graveyard shifts in Philippine time or within US operating hours.
- Technical Skills: Fluent in ADP WorkforceNow (system admin or configuration level ideal) | Strong Excel and Office 365 proficiency (Power BI a plus)
- Experience working in shift-based or production environments
- Knowledgeable in CNESST, tax filings, labor standards, and benefits compliance
- Bilingual (French/English) preferred
- Detail-oriented, approachable, and proactive — you see payroll as part of the employee experience.
