The IT Cloud Administrator will have to develop, configure, implement, and manage the systems that comprise the underlying cloud platform. The professional assists in setting up public or private cloud systems. They must learn how to balance workload and deploy them in an automated way. The individual should monitor and alter the systems as per the prescribed methodology.
What you will do:
- Domain expertise: Serve as technical lead responsible for implementing the organization’s enterprise cloud strategy in the Philippines using Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Promote the adoption of cloud servers as the preferred option for new deployments.
- Business Analysis: Effectively understand business requirements and translate into functional specifications and cloud equivalencies and build the appropriate solution.
- Solution Design: Simplify and automate the process of provisioning cloud VMs. Create a standard, reusable and scalable cloud VM deployment model based on business requirements for size, speed, latency and availability. Work with platform and application owners on performance tuning as needed.
- Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the appropriate teams to understand applicable internal and external regulatory requirements and business risks and incorporate security best practices into the solution design. Establish a minimum-security baseline for cloud virtual machines per enterprise standards and update as needed.
- Integration and Operability: Integrate and maintain Azure and AWS environments with on-premise or third-party integration tools and connections such as APIs, middleware, connectors by leveraging Azure and/or AWS tools. Extend core server technologies such as DNS, Active Directory, etc. to Azure and/or AWS virtual machines.
- Business Continuity: Understand business requirements and build resiliency, high availability and elasticity into the solution design as needed. Collaborate with management and business owners to align cloud implementations with the organization’s business continuity strategies, policies and processes.
- Event Management: Identify a standard set of performance and security parameters and thresholds and integrate logging and monitoring into the organization’s event management policy and processes.
- Incident Management: Ensure uptime of cloud servers in line with organizational goals and business need. Serve as the sec0nd-level escalation for all Azure/AWS related issues. Collaborate with platform and application owners and business owners to resolve all cloud-related incidents within SLA. Escalate incidents to Azure/AWS, partners or vendors as needed. Research on incident root causes and recommend corrective and preventive action plans as needed.
What You Need To Have
- 3 years System Administration and hand-on experience operating AWS and/or Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. Microsoft Azure and/or AWS certifications are preferred.
- Experience in designing AWS/Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions from scratch based on business requirements.
- Experience in extending or integrating on-premise systems such as DNS, Active Directory, LDAP with AWS/Azure deployments.
- Experience in extending on-premise or third-party security and data protection infrastructure such as firewalls, WAF and ACLs or adopting AWS/Azure security tools to meet security and data protection requirements.
- Experience connecting AWS/Azure deployments with on-premise or third-party applications, websites and data sources using APIs, connectors, middleware, etc.
- Advance-level experience in Windows and RHEL operating systems, Active Directory, LDAP, SQL Server and Oracle databases.
- Experience with server and desktop virtualization technologies such as VMWare ESXi and vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper.
- Understanding on network concept and protocols
- Must have experience and Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (Nagios, Splunk, Zabbix, Solar Winds) or other cloud monitoring platforms.
- Experience in VMware and ESXi (6.x or higher) configuration and management experience.
