Purpose of the Position
- The Measuring Estimator is responsible for managing and preparing detailed measures of proposed construction, fit-out and refurbishment works in accordance with Sarah procedures, values. The employee will work with the General Manager of New Business, Estimating Manager, and may be required to support other Estimators within business
Responsibilities
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
- In line with Sarah values, liaise with and establish mutually beneficial relationships within SARAH Business, and in particular with internal team members from the Estimating team.
- Maintain clear and concise lines of communication to SARAH Constructions direct reporting managers and estimating team members.
Operational
- Analyse specifications, plans and related technical data to determine trace package requirements for measurements.
- Develop an understanding and competency in applying the Australian Standard and New Zealand Standard Method of Measurement (ANZSMM) to all measures required for each trade package.
- Collaboratively work with all internal Sarah teams to ensure understanding of the
- individual requirements of each estimate.
- Assist with measures for wide range of projects of varying sectors, and project phases.
- Comply with internal estimating standards and procedures including estimating software proficiency on CostX.
- Contribute to estimate handover post project reviews to assess project performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Mandatory Knowledge & Experience
- Completion of relevant tertiary qualification.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Work to obtain understanding of current aspects of the Australian commercial construction industry including construction techniques, terminology, relevant legislation.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
- Previous experience within commercial construction
- Previous experience using CostX, Buildsoft, Bid Contender and Microsoft Project.
