The Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee salaries and compensation in accordance with company policies and statutory regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, preparing reports, resolving payroll discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with government requirements on taxes, contributions, and other deductions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll for all employees on a scheduled basis (monthly, semi-monthly, etc.).
- Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, benefits, deductions, taxes, and other payroll components.
- Maintain and update payroll records, employee attendance, and timekeeping data.
- Prepare and submit mandatory government reports (e.g., SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, BIR, etc.).
- Address employee inquiries related to salaries, deductions, and benefits in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with HR for new hires, terminations, leaves, and changes in salary or employment status.
- Generate payroll-related reports for management, auditing, and finance departments.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax laws, and internal payroll policies.
- Liaise with government agencies regarding employee benefits and remittances.
- Assist in year-end processing, including BIR Form 2316, annualization, and tax returns.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 2–3 years of experience in payroll processing or a similar role.
- Familiarity with local labor and tax laws (e.g., Philippines: DOLE, SSS, Pag-IBIG, BIR, etc.).
- Experience using payroll software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, ADP, or local systems).
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
