The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing therapeutic programs to help patients restore physical function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. This role plays a vital part in promoting recovery, independence, and overall quality of life for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients’ physical conditions, medical history, and functional limitations through evaluations and diagnostic tests.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and physician’s recommendations.
- Implement therapy programs using exercises, manual techniques, and specialized equipment to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, home exercise programs, and preventive care.
- Monitor, document, and evaluate patient progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with hospital/clinic policies and healthcare regulations.
- Promote wellness and injury prevention through patient education and community outreach when applicable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
- Licensed Physical Therapist (must hold a valid PRC license in the Philippines).
- Clinical experience in hospital or rehabilitation settings is an advantage.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and detail-oriented.
