Job Summary:
The Purchasing Canvasser is responsible for sourcing, canvassing, and evaluating suppliers to procure materials, supplies, and services at the best possible price and quality for the corrugated board and box manufacturing company. This role involves ensuring timely delivery of materials, maintaining accurate records, and building strong relationships with suppliers to support the company's operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and canvass potential suppliers for raw materials, equipment, and other requirements.
- Gather quotations and compare prices, quality, and delivery terms.
- Ensure compliance with the company's quality standards and requirements.
- Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, delivery reliability, and service.
- Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation and issuance of purchase orders.
- Ensure purchase orders align with company policies and budgets.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of quotations, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to the company’s procurement policies.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand their material and service needs.
- Resolve issues related to deliveries, invoices, or supplier performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related any field.
- Proven experience in canvassing or procurement is a plus.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to evaluate multiple options.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Integrity and professionalism in handling company resources and supplier relationships.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Team player with a proactive attitude
