QUANTITY SURVEYOR
CLIENT: NEW ZEALAND; REMOTE

The Quantity Surveyor plays a key role in supporting the Sales Team by preparing accurate plan take-offs and product schedules from architectural drawings. This position ensures that all quotations and project proposals are based on sound quantity assessments and aligned with customer requirements. The role also assists with product specification, pricing accuracy, and other sales support activities as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan Take-Offs & Product Schedules
- Interpret architectural and construction drawings to prepare detailed quantity take-offs for bathrooms, kitchens, and related areas.
- Create clear, accurate schedules of quantities and recommended product selections based on plans and project specifications.
- Liaise with the sales team to confirm scope, ensure compliance with budget constraints, and meet project timelines.
- Sales Support
- Provide technical input to support the preparation of quotations, proposals, and tender submissions.
- Work with Account Managers, Showroom Consultants, and external customers to clarify requirements and offer appropriate product solutions.
- Update and maintain product information in schedules and assist with variation pricing or changes.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Sales, Product, and Supply Chain, to ensure alignment on availability, lead times, and technical fit.
- Build strong working relationships with builders, architects, designers, and developers where needed to support the sales process.
- Continuous Improvement & Systems
- Provide feedback on product suitability or specification gaps identified through plan reviews.
- Contribute to improving internal take-off templates, processes, and scheduling tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation and version control for all plan assessments.
- Other Duties
- Support the Sales Team with general estimating, quoting, and project administration tasks as required.
- Assist with pricing updates and product substitutions where necessary.
- Participate in training sessions or product knowledge updates to maintain technical expertise
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline.
- Experience in quantity take-offs and working with architectural/construction plans.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Excel and able to learn industry-specific tools or quoting systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Experience in the building products or bathroom/kitchen industry.
- Familiarity with New Zealand building standards and residential/light commercial projects.
- Ability to interpret interior design specifications and suggest practical product solutions.
Home Office Requirements:
- Internet Connection : Must be 50 mbps at the least, preferably wired connection with PLDT, Cable connection is fine if it's more than 5mbps. We DO NOT accept plug-in, wi-fi or wimax.
- Computer/Laptop: The contractor must have a good working computer.
- Headsets : The Contractor must have noise cancelling headsets preferably Plantronics Blackwire C320M headsets. Assessment will be done during test calls.
- Dedicated Home Office - Contractors are required to have a dedicated home office free from noise and distractions.
- Web Cam - for meeting purposes
- Must be comfortable in working with Time Doctor/Screenshot Monitor
