Position: Legal and Compliance Manager

About the Role:
We’re hiring a Legal and Compliance Manager for one of our clients in the digital payments industry. The role focuses on overseeing legal matters and ensuring compliance with Philippine regulations and potential international standards. This includes giving legal advice, managing regulatory obligations, and reducing legal risks for the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on issues like anti-money laundering (AML), BSP compliance,
contracts, data privacy, intellectual property, and consumer protection.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including service agreements and
compliance policies.
- Monitor local and international laws and ensure the company’s compliance programs are updated and implemented.
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments, and create policies to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Draft and implement internal compliance policies based on AML laws and BSP rules,
including reporting obligations.
- Identify and manage legal risks in coordination with internal teams.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance topics.
- Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies and represent the company during any legal proceedings.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. or equivalent law degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in legal and compliance (preferably in payments or
financial services)
- Strong knowledge of Philippine and international regulatory frameworks
- Excellent communication and legal writing skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Chinese is a plusPreferred Qualifications:
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (or similar certification)
- Experience with multinational companies or cross-border compliance
