Reporting within the Group Functions Technology and Global Data Management, we are looking for an engaging and highly organized Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager is primarily accountable for ensuring efficient and effective service delivery in adherence to service level agreements with both internal and external customers by providing direction/guidance to team members in driving high performance. The Senior Project Manager supports, executes, and administers the project requirements by applying Traditional, Agile and Rapid development methodologies. The incumbent produces reports used by Resource Managers to determine the compliance of the project team in managing time, effort, and quality of deliverables. The role will be responsible for presenting project data (including financial information) to Project Sponsors to help track activity progress, identify support areas, and recommend process improvements.
Position Responsibilities:
- Executing technical and business projects across multiple stakeholders; developing analysis to support process and project improvements
- Managing and coordinating business and technical projects through all phases of initiation, development, and implementation
- Working with clients to define and manage the scope, strategy, requirements, and implementation of projects
- Ensuring that assigned projects are completed within budgets and schedules while meeting client business objectives
- Identifying, analyzing, mitigating, documenting, and controlling project risks
- Providing effective and regular communication within the project team, stakeholders, sponsors, and management
- Identifying resource needs for the project and establishes roles, expectations, and goals with team members
- Driving the assessment and management and mitigation of project risks that impede successful project delivery
- Reporting on and manages project resource tracking and budgets for project area
- Understanding nature of impact and creates lessons learned for future delivery
Strong contributor able to enable others within immediate team
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Project Management; with experience in the Financial Services Industries; PMP or other project designation would be an asset
- Expertise in managing both waterfall and agile project methodologies; Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence etc.)
- Shift dependent on the project supported, Hybrid set-up, MBPS QC
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms
- Experience in process improvement and automations, with technical background is an advantage
- Proven track record of managing and delivering large scale projects involving cross functional IT teams and business partners
- Use knowledge of the discipline and the market to suggest alternate approach options to leadership based on current project obstacles and objectives
- Able to function as an organizational change agent and see beyond current situations towards enterprise-wide higher-level process and systems improvements
- Demonstrates skill, and strong interpersonal skills for the role across the project; has experience in collaborating and partnering with people at all levels of the company; including system engineers and architects, stakeholders, functional business managers and senior leadership
- Strong analytical management skills, copes with complex situations using both skills and experience to lead to the right outcome
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation; ability to adapt content to various audiences; communicates effectively at all organization levels; able to effectively articulate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audience
- Organizational and problem-solving abilities enabling management through creative abrasion
- Working knowledge of the business needs related to the project with some industry awareness of key trends
- Strong working knowledge and experience in area of practice; constantly learns from both success and failure
- Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines
