- Operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods to and from specified locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicle.
- Secure cargo properly and verify load against shipping documents.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules while complying with federal and state driving regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repairs using electronic logging devices (ELDs).
- Communicate with dispatchers, clients, and other drivers using mobile devices or radio systems.
- Report accidents, traffic violations, or mechanical issues promptly.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking oil, fuel, tires, and lights.
- Ensure the safety and security of cargo during transit.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding vehicle use and conduct.
