Position Overview:
Advanced Medical Solutions is seeking a dependable and highly organized Virtual Medical Assistant – Precertification Representative to join our remote healthcare support team. In this role, you will be responsible for securing insurance precertifications and prior authorizations for mental health/behavioral health services, ensuring accurate documentation and timely communication between providers, insurance payers, and patients.
Responsibilities:
- Contact insurance to obtain prior authorizations for scheduled procedures.
- Review provider notes and documentation to determine precertification requirements based on insurance plan rules.
- Input and track authorization details in EMR/CRM systems and maintain complete, accurate records.
- Monitor and follow up on pending authorizations to avoid delays in care or claim denials.
- Maintain current knowledge of payer guidelines, medical necessity criteria, and relevant coding practices.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of proven experience with Prior Authorization (Behavioral Health is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and multitasking skills

Begins at $800 USD per month
