The Opportunity:
ECI has an exciting opportunity for Vulnerability Remediation Engineer, The Vulnerability Remediation Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and actively remediating security vulnerabilities across enterprise systems. This role involves hands-on patching of Windows servers, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and implementing technical solutions to reduce risk and strengthen the organization’s security posture.
This is an onsite role.
What you will do:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Remediation -
- Actively patch Windows servers and ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Lead complex remediation efforts across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
- Analyze vulnerability scan results, assess risk, and recommend or implement appropriate remediation actions.
- Develop and maintain scripts or tools to automate remediation and patching tasks.
2. Collaboration & Support -
- Work closely with system owners, patching teams, and application developers to coordinate and execute remediation activities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for vulnerability management tools and remediation processes.
3. Process & Compliance -
- Ensure remediation activities comply with internal policies, SLAs, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of remediation actions, patching activities, and risk assessments.
- Support audit and compliance efforts by providing evidence of remediation and patching.
4. Continuous Improvement -
- Identify and address gaps in vulnerability and patch management processes.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.
- Contribute to the development of remediation playbooks, patching standards, and knowledge base articles.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in vulnerability management, system administration, or cybersecurity engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7).
- Proficiency in patch management and configuration tools (e.g., SCCM, WSUS, ConnectWise Automate).
- Solid understanding of CVSS scoring, threat modeling, and risk prioritization.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container security.
- Excellent troubleshooting, scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python), and documentation skills.
Bonus points if you have:
- CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, or equivalent.
- Cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Security
Engineer Associate).
