Position: DevOps and Support Engineer (Fully Remote)
We are looking for a versatile IT Ops Analyst to support our operations and collaborate closely with a Tier 3 Engineer. This role combines DevOps, IT support, and issue triage responsibilities. The ideal candidate is proactive, technically skilled, and comfortable working cross-functionally. Based in the Philippines, this role offers valuable after-hours coverage that complements our PST/EST teams without operational overlap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, categorize, assign, and manage production issues proactively.
- Investigate medium- to low-priority issues across teams and customers, analyze root causes, and document clean, reproducible steps.
- Troubleshoot complex customer-reported issues using logs and black-box analysis.
- Manage and deploy team tooling such as Sentry, CI/CD systems, and in-house deployment services.
- Improve logging and monitoring systems to accelerate feedback loops and issue resolution.
- Address automated test failures or delegate them appropriately.
- Enhance Slack integration for CI/CD pipelines to ensure visibility and accuracy.
- Automate recurring workflows to support developer efficiency.
- Provide general IT support and assist internal teams with technical troubleshooting.
- May assist with QA testing, technical documentation, or compliance tasks depending on interest and skill set.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a DevOps, IT Operations, or Support Engineering role.
- Proficiency with tools and technologies such as Docker, Python, Sentry, Jenkins, Linux, and Bash.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English for effective collaboration across teams and with clients.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Tier 2+ troubleshooting and customer support workflows.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, automation, infrastructure).
- Exposure to AWS, JavaScript, HTML, or web application development.
- Knowledge or hands-on experience with:
- Ansible, Kafka, Fluentd
- Technical writing and proposal documentation
- QA testing or Design QA
- Compliance management and internal audits
- Information security (e.g., penetration testing, NIST, red teaming)
- User research or data engineering
