- Assist in preparing and cooking food according to the restaurant's menu and recipes.
- Work on a designated station (grill, sauté, fry, etc.) during service, ensuring timely and accurate dish preparation.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to maintain cleanliness and proper handling of food.
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping, slicing, and measuring, for cooking.
- Ensure the quality, presentation, and portion sizes of all dishes are consistent with restaurant standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper storage of ingredients and tools.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting any shortages.
- Work efficiently with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy service periods.
- Assist in the preparation of daily specials or menu changes as directed by the senior kitchen staff.
- Follow proper cooking techniques and presentation standards under the guidance of senior cooks and chefs.
- Clean kitchen equipment and tools after use and assist in the overall cleanliness of the kitchen at the end of the shift.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the safe use of kitchen equipment and utensils.
