We are looking for an experienced Medical Coding Subject Matter Expert (SME) to contribute to a specialized project focused on the detailed analysis and annotation of medical datasets. This role involves accurately interpreting and tagging ICD codes, their descriptions, associated medical notes, and transcripts of doctor–patient interactions, in accordance with CPT 2025 guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Preferably a bachelor’s degree in health information management, nursing, life sciences, or any allied health field
- Must be a certified medical coder from AAPC
- Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding systems
- At least 2 years experience in CPT coding
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze a dataset consisting of ICD codes, descriptions, medical notes, and doctor–patient conversations.
- Accurately interpret, label, and classify data in accordance with the CPT 2025 Standard Data File and provided guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with medical coding standards and quality assurance benchmarks.
- Prepare and submit annotated files in the required format (e.g., CSV, Excel).
- Collaborate with the project team to meet performance standards and delivery timelines.
