As the Structural Steel Detailer, you will play a key support role in producing accurate, fabrication-ready drawings for commercial and industrial projects across New Zealand. This role is ideal for detailers looking to build their technical expertise and experience within a supportive team environment. You will be responsible for executing the foundational aspects of detailing — from modelling repetitive components to updating drawings based on redlines and markups — all while developing your understanding of NZ/AU codes, fabrication practices, and TEKLA Structures. Your output will directly contribute to overall project delivery, workshop efficiency, and buildability on site.
- Support project delivery by producing accurate 3D models and shop drawings using TEKLA Structures, based on markups and design input from senior team members.
- Detail repetitive or standard steel components (e.g., base plates, bracing, cleats, stair treads, handrails), ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Work from architectural and structural drawings to complete assigned sections of detailing packages under supervision.
- Collaborate with senior detailers to incorporate feedback, redlines, and RFIs into updated models and drawings.
- Assist with drawing revisions and version control, ensuring up-to-date documentation is maintained.
- Learn and apply NZ/AU steel detailing standards, fabrication methods, and construction codes under guidance.
- Participate in internal team meetings and technical reviews to improve knowledge and contribute to quality outcomes.
- Maintain drawing and file organisation according to project and company standards.
- Adhere to company QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policies at all times.
