About the Role
The System Administrator manages and maintains the company’s IT systems, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely. This includes system setup, troubleshooting, backups, and making sure everything complies with IT policies. Monitor system health, handle user accounts, apply security measures, and support both on-prem and cloud environments.
The role also involves working with the IT team on projects, improving system performance, and ensuring business continuity through disaster recovery planning. Staying up to date with new tech and security threats is key to recommending improvements. This position reports to the IT Supervisor and requires proper documentation and handover of tasks to keep operations seamless.
What you will do:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
System Management & Maintenance
- Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux) and related infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and availability.
- Apply security patches, updates, and upgrades in line with maintenance schedules.
Network & Security
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control.
- Implement and monitor firewall rules, antivirus, and endpoint security.
- Monitor logs and alerts for security incidents and respond accordingly.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Manage and test backup systems to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
Support & Documentation
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support to end-users.
- Document system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Collaborate with other IT team members for project implementation and upgrades.

Work experience:
- Proven track record in administering and maintaining enterprise-grade Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) with high availability, clustering, and optimized performance.
- Extensive experience managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP in complex multi-site and hybrid infrastructures.
- Strong background in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), including identity management, conditional access policies, single sign-on (SSO), and integration with on-premises Active Directory.
- Advanced administration of Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online, including hybrid deployments, security hardening, and compliance configurations.
- Advanced proficiency in virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V, including capacity planning and resource optimization.
- Hands-on expertise with leading cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS) for infrastructure deployment, migration, and hybrid integration.
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching) with the ability to design, secure, and optimize network performance.
- Significant experience in firewall administration and in designing, implementing, and enforcing advanced security policies.
- Strong background in enterprise backup solutions and disaster recovery strategy, testing, and execution.
- Expert-level skills in endpoint protection, antivirus management, and endpoint hardening against advanced persistent threats (APT).
- Proficiency in automation scripting using PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent, to streamline and standardize system administration tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead patch management and enterprise-scale update deployments with minimal operational disruption.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools (PRTG, Nagios, SolarWinds, Zabbix) for proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Prior involvement in IT compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, or similar), with a deep understanding of audit requirements and documentation standards.
- Proven ability to deliver Tier 2/3 technical support, resolving complex escalations quickly and effectively while providing mentorship to junior IT staff.
