I. PRINCIPAL PURPOSE of the POSITION
To contribute in the attainment of the corporate objectives primarily through the achievement of annual business plan through the brand management process. The brand management process involves the planning, implementing, and evaluating existing brands to build a strong equity across different markets and/or channels. It anchors on product positioning then aligns pricing, placement, and promotion to satisfy market needs. It includes market gap analysis, portfolio planning, setting of strategies and implementing programs to compete effectively in the market, utilizing both above-the-line (ATL) and below the line (BTL) activities coordinated within commercial team and other key units. This will also include assessment, recommendation, and creating launch plans of relevant new products for commercialization in the identified markets.
II. SPECIFIC DUTIES, SKILLS and RESPONSIBILITIES
The Associate Brand Manager (ABM) is accountable in achieving the brand’s objectives for Net Sales Value, Contribution Margin, Finished Goods (FG) days level, volume and market share, and creation of marketing campaigns for the assigned brands or categories. The BM is responsible for the following core processes:
BRAND MANAGEMENT
Planning
1. Seeks consumer insights, identifies target markets and channels and the most appropriate vehicles to reach them
2. Mines and collates data that will aid in the development of the Annual Marketing Intent
Organization/Implementation
1. Gathers needed information for the product orientation material for interfacing units and new hires
2. Gathers needed data and updates the brand information fact book
3. Tracks and updates status of new product developments in collaboration with other key units
4. Creates sales launch kits for the commercialization of new products and innovation
5. Gathers needed data and presents product transition plan when necessary
6. Gathers needed data and presents rationalization plan when necessary
7. Monitors and recommends disposition plan for near-expiry Finished Goods (FG) Inventory
8. Mines and consolidates data needed for the creation of pricing per Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) across different channels
9. Aids the AVP in the liaison with cross-functional units and third-party suppliers related to the development of Above-the-Line (ATL) campaigns
10. Closely coordinates with Brand Activation group and recommends the disposition plan for excess promo materials, near-ex items and implementation of other promotions and trade-related activities
11. Mines and collates needed data and presents Brand Review based on agreed schedule
12. Organizes requests for product samples
13. Conducts occasional trade check to have mastery of the market, update self on market trends and competition and familiarize self with sales and trade operations.
14. Conducts visits and alignment meetings with the distributors to be adept and contribute in the achievement of brand’s objectives
Administrative
1. Encodes Internal Orders (IOs) and Purchase Requisition (PRs), Demand Plan (DP) and Annual Business Plan (ABP) in the system
2. Routes documents for approval and archives electronic and hard copies of documents
Controlling
1. Gathers data needed for the analysis of Demand Forecast Accuracy
2. Gathers data need for the analysis of the profitability of brands
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT/LICENSURE REQUIREMENT
a. Must be a graduate of a 4-year course, preferably with a degree in Marketing, Business Management, or Communication Arts
B. WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIREMENT
a. With at least 5 years of experience in Brand Management / Marketing, gained in FMCG company, preferably food category

C. WORKING CONDITIONS INHERENT to the JOB
a. Office work hours (9-hours)
b. Travel to the Plant if needed
c. Occasional fieldwork to monitor brand/competitive performance
d. Occasional out-of-base travel to meet and coordinate with key partners, i.e. agency, suppliers, distributors, etc. if needed
- Experience in the consumer goods industry is a plus
- Office is located at The Currency Tower, Julia Vargas, Ortigas Pasig.
