Key Responsibilities:
The Data Quality Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data within Finance Data Warehouse. This position is responsible for executing and enhancing data quality frameworks, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing controls to maintain data integrity from across financial systems and reporting platforms.
Working closely with leaders and cross-functional teams, the Specialist will support data governance initiatives, develop quality metrics and analysis, and contribute to continuous improvement of data management practices. This role may support daily operations to ensure business continuity and timely resolution of data-related issues.
Data Quality Monitoring and Validation
Perform regular data quality assessments and audits
Identify, document and resolve data anomalies, inconsistencies and gaps
Validate data transformations and result sets during ETL and reporting development
Identify quality issues and recommend solutions
Oversee the data quality review processes conducted by members of the Data Warehouse team
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internal and external to GFS)
Tools and Metric Development
Design and implement data quality rules, scorecards and metrices for data quality analysis
Develop and maintain automated tools and scripts for data cleansing, validation and reconciliation
Collaborate with finance systems and analytics teams to integrate data quality checks into pipelines
Continuously seek, test and recommend improvements to processes, practices and policies
Governance and Compliance
Initiate and/or support data governance policies and standards
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and regulatory standards
Maintain documentation of data quality processes, modifications, test activities, back-up/recovery handling, recovery procedures, and issue resolution log, and others related documentations
Develop training materials and resources to empower users and data owners. Train and conduct orientations as needed
Ensure business continuity through reliable back-up, restore, and recovery protocols
Operational Support
Support, participate and/or lead finance systems and data capability initiatives and projects that may be assigned
Provide day-to-day support for data warehouse operations
Troubleshoot data issues
Coordinate with upstream/downstream data owners and associates
Mentor team members and peers; Supervise the delivery of output the impact data quality
Participate in UAT and production validation for data-related projects
Participate in activities to ensure continuity of business
Assist FD&C and the rest of GFS leadership in various assignments, tasks and projects as may be assigned.
Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, workshops, etc.
Attend and participate in chapel services, daily and group devotions
Promote World Vision’s values through example and hold others accountable for the same across the team
Perform all other duties that may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Data Management, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science or relevant field or experience
Able to work with several functional managers or stakeholders and is able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization (verbally and in writing)
Results-orientated work approach and ability to escalate effectively, if required
Ability to work independently and willingness to take ownership/make decisions within area of responsibility
Required Professional Experience
With some experience in system administration, with at least 1 year in finance or accounting
3-5 years of proven experience in data quality assurance
Proven experience and skills in a database platform preferably SQL
Has experience working with relational database and able to translate organizational structure into the system
Proven experience in data analysis, Excel and VBA/Macro
Proven experience in collaborating with all levels and various departments in a large organization
Experience should be in a large, multinational, multilateral or global organization
Has experience working across time zones
Required travel and/or work environment accommodations:
The role requires an on-site presence and involves regular collaboration with global teams across various time zones. Occasional travel may be necessary to support global initiatives and stakeholder engagements.
This position is eligible for Hybrid-Work based on GFS Manila Hybrid Work Position and Implementing Rules.
Position’s physical requirements:
The candidate/incumbent must have the motor skills and physical abilities to necessary to perform the work at a computer and in an office environment. The role is primarily office or desk-based and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods. The candidate must be able to move within the office to attend meetings and collaborate with team members. The role may involve occasional travel, requiring the ability to navigate various environments and manage physical demands associated with business travel.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications:
Shows understanding of accounting concepts Experience in data quality management, data analysis or a related field
Familiarity with financial systems such as SunSystems, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle and SAP Proficiency in data tools and reporting platform is an advantage
