We are seeking to recruit a Immunization Coordinator for Gabay Bakuna Project based in Manila.
Position Summary
IMA World Health has been awarded the Gabay Bakuna: A Strengthening Immunization Project Implementation in Sub-National Consequential Geographies - Philippines. Gabay Bakuna, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is a five-year initiative aimed at enhancing the capacity of the immunization systems in sub-national areas. The project seeks to contribute to the advancement of the goals of the country's National Immunization Program including the with an initial focus on Region IV-A (Cities of Bacoor and Imus). Co-led by IMA World Health and Jhpiego, Gabay Bakuna is supported by IMA World Health's consortium of partners including the Foundation for the Advancement of Clinical Epidemiology (FACE), Philippine Foundation for Vaccination (PFV), Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP), Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), and Evident Strategic Consulting and Research, Inc. (Evident). This project seeks to strengthen immunization services, surveillance systems, and health system capacities to reduce vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) and improve overall vaccine coverage.
Roles & Responsibilities
Support the implementation of the Gabay Bakuna activities in the target geography. The set of activities is reviewed and updated every year and could include:
- Risk Communication and Community Engagement Activities
- Private Provider of Health Services Engagement
- EPI Review and Data Triangulation Activities
- Supportive Supervision and Monitoring Activities
- VPD Surveillance and Response Activities
- Roll-out of Information Systems Related to Immunization
- Other activities that would be designed based on CDC/DOH requests and the ongoing development of the project
Project Management
- Maintain and update project management tools for both external and internal communications/platforms (e.g., workplans, Gantt charts, trackers, Phoenix/Salesforce) to monitor implementation progress.
- Coordinate closely with co-implementer (Jhpiego Philippines), local partners, national and regional DOH offices, and LGUs to ensure alignment and timely delivery of immunization activities.
- Provide regular updates to CDC and other stakeholders on project status, challenges, and key accomplishments.
- Organize and document coordination meetings and follow through on action points.
- Track implementation timelines and flag delays or risks to the management team for timely resolution.
Capacity Strengthening/Building:
- Identify training needs of LGU health staff and local partners involved in immunization service delivery.
- Coordinate the design, scheduling, and delivery of training sessions, workshops, and on-the-job mentoring.
- Support adaptation and use of national training materials for local contexts in collaboration with CHD and partners.
- Monitor post-training outcomes and provide follow-up support to ensure application of skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate peer learning and knowledge exchange among LGUs and implementing partners to strengthen immunization systems.
- Participate in accompaniment visits to LGUs i.e., supportive supervision, coaching, mentoring, etc. as needed
Reporting:
- Regularly report on project progress, challenges, and successes to project leadership.
- Contribute to donor reporting by providing accurate data and comprehensive narratives showcasing project outcomes.

Reporting:
The Project Officer/Immunization Coordinator will report directly to the Program Director and will work closely with CHD IV-A, local health authorities, consortium partners, and other stakeholders involved in immunization activities.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, or related field.
- A Master's degree is preferred.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health systems strengthening, immunization programs, or public health, with a focus on Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD) and immunization.
- Experience working with DOH, LGUs, health workers, and community leaders, particularly in a coordinating role to ensure smooth execution of public health initiatives.
- Familiarity with working in consortium-based projects, with experience coordinating multi-partner initiatives and ensuring alignment of objectives among diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to maintain project management tools (e.g., workplans, trackers) and ensure timely implementation of activities.
- Excellent reporting and communication skills, with experience in contributing to donor reporting, presenting project outcomes, and providing data-driven insights for program improvement.
- Experience working in defaulter tracking, vaccine management, or health surveillance systems is preferred.

- Strong knowledge of immunization programs and public health systems in the Philippines.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.
- Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, including government and community health workers.
- Ability to organize training or conduct supportive supervision effectively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with fluency in English and Tagalog.
