About the Role
We are seeking an experienced US Tax professional to join us as a US Tax Trainer. This role blends technical expertise, client engagement, and people development. You will play a key role in supporting clients who offshore US Tax associates by designing and delivering training programs, reviewing tax work, and mentoring associates to ensure high-quality service delivery.
The Tax Trainer will be client-facing, hands-on in reviewing corporate and partnership returns, and actively involved in developing tax associates. Depending on your experience, you may begin managing and reviewing immediately or progressively grow into these responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Design and deliver structured training programs on US Federal Tax regulations, compliance, and preparation techniques.
- Develop training materials such as manuals, presentations, and online resources to support learning.
- Conduct workshops and interactive sessions to simplify complex tax concepts and improve knowledge retention.
- Assess training needs and tailor programs for different skill levels and learning styles.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and refine content based on feedback and results.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support as associates apply their learning to real client work.
Tax Review & Client Engagement
- Act as a client-facing resource, ensuring confidence in the performance of offshore US Tax associates.
- Review corporate (1120) and partnership (1065) tax returns, with flexibility across other federal filings.
- Supervise and provide feedback to tax associates to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with clients and internal leadership to align on expectations and improve processes.
- Stay up to date with US Federal tax law changes and industry best practices to keep training and review processes current.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in US Federal Tax preparation and compliance, with focus on corporate (1120) and/or partnership (1065) returns.
- Prior experience in reviewing and supervising tax associates’ work.
- Experience in training, teaching, or mentoring others is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of US tax regulations and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Familiarity with a range of US tax software (e.g., CCH, UltraTax, Drake, Lacerte, ProSystem, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with e-learning platforms is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for developing others.
