Job Description:
We are hiring an Accounting Associate to support daily accounting tasks and financial reporting in the maritime industry. The role requires collaboration with operations and crew management teams across global offices. Ideal candidates should have solid accounting skills, a proactive attitude, and interest or experience in maritime services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process daily transactions: A/P, A/R, and journal entries
- Reconcile port, crew change, and vessel disbursement invoices
- Maintain financial records for vessel and crew operations
- Assist with monthly closings, reports, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with maritime financial rules and company policies
- Coordinate billing and expenses with operations/logistics teams
- Support audits with required documentation
- Help prepare VAT, tax filings, and other statutory reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the maritime, logistics, or shipping industry.
- Knowledge of maritime cost structures (e.g., port fees, Visa fees, crew travel, agency costs) is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good English communication and collaboration skills
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP or shipping-specific financial systems.
- Familiarity with international accounting practices and multicurrency transactions
