A Little About Us
Höegh Autoliners is a global player in Ro/Ro deep sea transportation services and operates the greenest fleet in this segment. The company owns and operates approx. 40 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs) in global trade systems, making around 3 000 port calls yearly. Managed from a worldwide network of around 16 offices, our main customers are major manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and other rolling stock.
Purpose:
The Cargo Enquiry Handler is responsible for acceptance/safety evaluation and processing of cargo enquiries from the company’s commercial staff.
Reporting to: Cargo Quality and Operations Support Manager

Main responsibilities
- Responsible for evaluation of proposed cargo towards HAL cargo safety standards and cargo acceptance requirements.
- Provide cargo technical evaluation for relevant cargo enquiries.
- Responsible for estimating equipment quantity needs for relevant cargo enquiries.
- Responsible for providing lashing arrangement and stuffing plan for relevant cargo enquiries.
- Responsible for verification of securing of high-risk cargo.
- Responsible for evaluation and acceptance of IMDG cargoes.
- Provide documentation and detailed reports on cargo handling inquiries, statistics, and performance metrics, ensuring their relevance and accuracy to aid decision-making in cargo operations.
- Conduct risk assessments.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks as may be required by line manager.
- Shall support and comply with company policies and procedure for Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management System as required by ISO 9001,14001 & 45001.
Qualifications
- BSc in Nautical Science
- Experience as Deck Officer on board PCTC or RoRo vessels
- Team player with ability to work independently.
- Self-going and solution oriented.
- Analytical and systematic.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to be firm yet reasonable within a multinational contact network.
