The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily logistics and warehouse operations of the branch. This includes the efficient handling, movement, and storage of merchandise, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards. The role also supervises logistics staff and coordinates with other departments to support retail operations.
Job description:
1. Warehouse and Inventory Management
- Ensure timely and accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods
- Implement proper stock rotation (FIFO) to minimize spoilage or damage
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse at all times
2. Logistics and Distribution
- Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
- Oversee loading and unloading processes to ensure product integrity
- Plan and monitor delivery schedules, routes, and transport arrangements
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport partners, and internal teams
3. Team Supervision and Development
- Supervise and schedule logistics staff
- Provide training and guidance on company SOPs and safety protocols
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and recommend improvements
4. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, dispatches, and receipts
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on logistics performance
- Ensure all documentation complies with internal audit standards
5. Compliance and Safety
- Enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and government regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure all logistics operations follow EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with retail and merchandising
- Support branch operations by ensuring the availability of goods and supplies
- Address and resolve logistics-related issues efficiently
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2–3 years supervisory experience in logistics or warehouse operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office
- Knowledge of safety standards and government regulations related to warehousing and transport
