The Social Media Assistant will be responsible for daily monitoring and engagement across Mad Monkey’s social media channels, ensuring active community involvement and brand visibility. This role also involves creating engaging video content using materials provided by our on-site teams, aligned with the overall marketing strategy.
The position requires close collaboration with Guest Experience, VIG teams, and General Managers on the ground to align content and commercial priorities, and to support quick-turnaround video ideas based on emerging trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Community Monitoring and Engagement:Regularly monitor social media channels for mentions of Mad Monkey, discussions on local pages, and tagged content. Engage appropriately by resharing user-generated content and participating in conversations that align with the brand voice. (Note: Direct customer inquiries and support messages are managed by the Customer Support team.)
- Content Creation:Produce short-form video content using footage and photos supplied by the on-ground teams. Edit and optimize content for platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Stories, ensuring consistency with the brand’s messaging and style guidelines.
- Cross-Team Coordination:Collaborate closely with the Guest Experience, VIG teams, and General Managers on the ground to coordinate content priorities, commercial objectives, and to brainstorm brief video concepts that enable fast response to social media trends.
- Scheduling and Publishing:Support with scheduling of posts and stories, including flash sales and event highlights, coordinating with the external agency as needed to ensure timely and effective content rollout.
- Collaboration with Marketing:Work closely with the wider marketing team to ensure content and engagement strategies align with overall brand objectives and campaigns.
- Trend Awareness and Idea Generation:Stay informed about emerging social media trends, platform features, and relevant cultural moments. Propose new content ideas and formats to maintain audience engagement and growth.
- Performance Tracking:Assist in monitoring social media metrics and reporting on content performance, engagement rates, and community growth to help inform future strategies.
- Additional Tasks:Support social media-related initiatives, including event promotions, influencer collaborations, and campaign activations as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience managing social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Intermediate video editing skills with proficiency in tools suitable for creating engaging short-form content.
- Strong understanding of brand voice and the ability to produce content consistent with brand guidelines.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Creative mindset with a proactive approach to identifying trends and content opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
